We’re passionate about architecture, design, and the smart investments that make a house a home. In addition to our work as Realtors, we enjoy buying, renovating, renting, and selling our own personal properties. On the rare occasion we vacation, we travel to destinations known for their residential architecture to marvel and learn.

If real estate weren’t our job, it would be our full-time hobby. It’s our passion.

Janet Zemeckis Scott

A licensed broker with more than 30 years’ experience in the Northern Colorado real-estate market, Janet grew up in Boulder and graduated from Boulder High School and the University of Colorado Boulder. She has volunteered for the Boulder Film Festival and the Museum of Boulder, and Janet Z Boulder is a museum event sponsor. Janet likes to hike and ski in and around Boulder, but real estate is her obsession. “My grandfather owned his own real estate company,” says Janet, “and I inherited his passion.” 

Janet understands the Boulder-area market like only a hometown agent can. She knows the neighborhoods, the schools, and all the intricacies. Her contacts run deep, and she’s always among the first to know when a listing is coming soon. For properties that may need remodeling, Janet works with numerous contractors, architects, and subs, and can quickly assemble just the right team to provide the buyer with a turnkey purchase-renovation experience. Because Boulder is a college town, Janet also has expertise in the rental market and often works with investors as well as families buying properties for their children to live in while attending CU. 

Together with her husband and business partner, Dave Scott, Janet has also owned, renovated, rented, and lived in a number of Boulder properties, including the mid-century modern home designed by architect Charles Haertling pictured in the homepage video. Haertling taught at CU in the 1950s and designed more than 40 buildings in and around Boulder. 

At Janet Z Real Estate, Janet focuses on Boulder while Dave covers Fort Collins. Both are members of the National Realtor Association, which certifies their Realtor® status and assures clients that they adhere to regulations to safeguard your purchase or sale of residential property. 

Dave Sean Scott

Janet’s husband and business partner, Dave manages Janet Z’s Fort Collins office. Dave is an excellent chef, vintage Porsche aficionado, and European bike collector. He has sponsored the Ed Carroll West Fest car show and helped found the Fort Collins Artist Studio Tour. 

Over the years Dave and Janet have owned several businesses in addition to Janet Z Real Estate, including Fort Collins Brewery.
